SHELTON JEROME KELLY SR. HOWARD LANMAN III Robert Francis Jester PRESTON Robert Francis Jester of Choptank, MD, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018, unexpectedly at the age of 58, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on March 11, 1960 in Easton, MD, he was the son of the late James Thomas Jester and Joyce Alvina Monath Jester. He graduated from Colonel Richardson High School in 1978 and later graduated from University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 1982. He taught at Colonel Richardson High School for 27 years before becoming the Supervisor of Transportation on July 1, 2008.

He married the love of his life, Dawn Marie Payne, on June 12, 1982. He was a member of The Boy Scouts of America troop 461 since 1971 and became one of the first Eagle Scouts of the troop in 1973. He was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics where he was President of Junior Order Cemetery, Chapter 43, and was the past State Councilor and a member of Caroline County Planning and Zoning for 20 years. He enjoyed helping others, projects around the house, going to Sunday breakfast, hunting, fishing, crabbing, school buses, taking boat rides, and most of all spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Dawn; his children: Lori Childers (Richard); Michael Jester (Rebecca); Daniel Jester (Jordan); his grandchildren: Reagan; Noah; his brothers: Russell Jester; Earl Jester and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 12 p.m. at Colonel Richardson High School, with Reverend Denzil Cheek. Friends may call on the family on Friday, April 13, from 6-8 p.m. or on Saturday before the start of the service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Interment will be held at Belmont Cemetery following the funeral service. Share memories with the family at: www.framptom.com. ROBERT FRANCIS JESTER Winfred E. Simpkins EASTON Winfred Earl Simpkins, died on April 2, 2018, at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton. He was 67. Born on Dec.

28, 1950, in Blackjack, N.C., he was the son of the late Charles Simpkins Jr. and Dorothy Lee Simpkins. Wimp graduated from Easton High School in 1970. He served in the Army National Guard, and he owned Simpkins Roofing and Siding Company Inc. in Easton for almost 25 years.

He was a longtime member and leader of the Easton Rotary Club, and he coached youth sports, including Little League baseball and ice hockey. More recently, he became a member of Christ Episcopal Church and the American Legion in Easton. Wimp had many interests and enjoyed taking on new challenges throughout his life, including scuba diving, hunting, fishing, flying airplanes, playing ice hockey, golfing and taking care of his landscaping and gardens. He loved to cook and spend time with his family and friends. He even developed a passion later in life for acting and dancing in local productions.

He was known as faithful, hard-working, friendly, outgoing, fun and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Wimp made a positive impact on his community, and as a result, he was known and loved by many. He is survived by his wife, Roni Brandt Simpkins. They were married in 2009. He is also survived by his children, Jeremy Simpkins (Jodi) of Severna Park, Kristyn Simpkins of Easton, grandchildren, Benjamin, Gavin and Zachary Simpkins; stepchildren, Nicholas Brandt (Amy) of Denton, Katie Ricketts (Jason) of Preston, Christopher Brandt (Erin) of Yuma, step-grandchildren, Macy, Taryn and Kendall Brandt, Jacob, Paige and Violet Ricketts, Maylen, Avery and Liam Brandt; siblings, Dorothy Steger (Tom), Yvonne Rhine, Charles Simpkins (Teresa), Katie Carter (Ray); eight nieces; eight nephews; and his former wife, Melinda Hamm Simpkins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Gwendolyn Picone and Seretha Scott. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein Newnam Funeral Home P.A., 200 S. Harrison Easton. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 14, at Christ Church in Easton at 10:30 a.m.

SIMPKINS Angela D. Hill, M.D. CAMBRIDGE Angela De Santis Hill, M.D., left this earth to join the church Triumphant on Sunday, April 1, 2018. Mrs. Hill was the daughter of the late Martin and Mary De Santis of Hartford, Connecticut.

She graduated valedictorian of William Hall High School in West Hartford, was awarded a two year scholarship at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, and graduated with a B.S. degree in Pre Med. She attended medical school and graduated from Medical College of Pennsylvania with a medical degree. She took a one year rotating internship, followed by a four-year residency in Psychiatry. After board certification, she specialized in general and child Psychiatry.

On June 12, 1965, she married Donald L. Hill who passed away on Sept. 27, 2009. Both she and Don were actively involved in the boating community (both sail and power). She was a Coxswain in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and was a certified scuba diver.

She also could be found on the waterway in her kayak. Dr. Hill is preceded by her husband of 44 years, Donald L. Hill. She is survived by a brother, Louis De Santis and his wife Beverly De Santis, of Stafford Springs, CT.

She is also survived by her constant companion and partner, Ronald Schaake and his loving family. She has a daughter, Carolyn Ann Hill Bjerke and her husband Wayne who reside in Weston, CT, with their three children: Paige Elizabeth, Phoebe Alexandra, and Dante Ace Vonn Bjerke. She also is survived by a son, Robert Brian Hill and his wife Michelle, of Rockville, MD, and their four children: Leena Eshack, Layla Eshack, Hayden Brian and Rylie Elaine Hill. She was a member of the Club of Cambridge and was an active member of St. United Methodist Church, 205 Maryland Cambridge.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 3 p.m. at St. United Methodist Church, Cambridge, MD, with Rev. Bonnie Shively and Rev. Fred Bahr officiating.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Margaret Karen Taylor HUDSON Margaret Karen Taylor, 72, of Hudson (Dorchester County), passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at her home, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Cambridge, MD, on May 22, 1945, and was a daughter of the late Sheldon and Dorothy Lee Windsor.

Karen attended the local schools and graduated from Cambridge High School with the Class of 1963. On Feb. 22, 1964, Karen married George F. Taylor and together raised a loving family. She was a member of Beckwith United Methodist Church and volunteered at many festivals.

Karen was a 4-H Leader and 4-H All-Star. She started a horse club called Trailblazers and also boarded horses. She loved all types of animals. Along with her husband, Karen was a school bus driver for over 30 years. She was a kind hearted spirit and loved everyone she met.

George and house was always open to friends and family even to the end. Karen is survived by her husband of 54 years, George; two sons: George Alan Taylor and his wife Amy, of Cambridge; John F. Taylor and his wife Alison, of Federalsburg; five grandchildren: Stephanie, Mackenzie, Shelby, Paige, and new grandson John Owen born on March 27, 2018; siblings: E. Ann Gerhardt, of St. Michaels; Brenda Yeatman; Cheryl Wilmoth and husband Jerry; Winfield Windsor, all of Cambridge; a special sister-in-law, Dawn Eaton who took her to all doctor appointments and treatments; sister-in-law, Frances Windsor; and brother-in-law, Raymond Johnson.

Preceding her in death, besides her parents, was a brother, Kelly Windsor; and sister, Shelly Johnson. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 14, beginning 1 p.m. at Beckwith United Methodist Church, 1328 Hudson Road, Cambridge, MD. Family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Officiating will be Rev.

Born on Sept. 19, 1945 in Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Ashley and Oakey Lewis. Helen graduated from North Dorchester High School with the Class of 1963. On Jan. 8, 1968, she married the love of her life, Darrell Johnson Sr.

She enjoyed camping, her family, and most of all watching the Orioles. She was a former member of the Linkwood Salem Volunteer Fire Department. Helen was known by the neighborhood children and they all loved her like another mom. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. Surviving Helen is her husband of 50 years, Darrell Johnson three children: Wendy Pitts and husband Pat; Dawn Johnson (Scott Warrell); David Johnson grandchildren: Ashley James and husband Josh; Megan Murphy and husband Matt; David Wayne Johnson Chloe Warrell; Brock Warrell; great grandchildren: Noah James; Hadleigh Murphy; and brother, Keith Lewis.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 12, beginning 12 p.m. at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge, with Pastor Ryan Hollis officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to service. Interment will be held at Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery beginning 2 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Patrick Pitts, Josh James, Scott Warrell, James Johnson, David Johnson Jr.

HELEN MARIE JOHNSON Alison D. Paul CAMBRIDGE Alison D. Paul, 47, of Cambridge, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at UMSMC at Dorchester. She was born in Cambridge on Nov. 7, 1970 and was a daughter of Connie and Frank Bell.

Alison graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School class of 1988. She was a CNA and worked at Chesapeake Center in Easton and later at Pizza in Cambridge. Alison enjoyed watching football, her cats, and playing games. She is survived by her wife, Erin Paul, of Cambridge; stepchild, Emily Graleski, of Cambridge; a cousin that she raised like her own, Stephen Reyn- olds, of Cambridge; parents: Frank and Connie Bell, of Cambridge; a sister, Tammy Wallace and husband Phil, of Cambridge; two brothers: Frankie Bell, of Princess Anne; Michael Bell and wife Christy, of Hurlock; several nieces and nephews. Alison is preceded in death by her grandparents, Agnes and Dewey Walter.

Pallbearers will be Michael Bell, Bud Reynolds, Chris Walter, Doug Walter, Justin Walter, and Joe Willey. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 12, 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, with Pastor Abe Lankford officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.
