Homer L. Gadow SALISBURY Homer L. Gadow of Salisbury died Sunday, July 21, 2002 at his home. He was 38. He was born in Preston on Sept.

16, 1963, the son of Betty McCoy Era of Salisbury and the late Kenneth F. Gadow. He was a graduate of Colonel Richardson High School Class of 1981. He was a former manager of golf courses including North East and Crossing in Salisbury. Besides his mother, he is survived by his stepfather, James Era; five brothers and sisters, Judy Phillips of Hoopers Island, Jerry Gadow of Hanover, Sue Tull of Federalsburg, Brenda George of Hay Market, Va.

and Martha Gadow of Pensacola, many nieces and nephews; a special friend, Ellen Heilback. A sister, Linda McCoy, died April 30, 2000. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Framptom-Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg.

Albert Berga TAYLORS ISLAND Albert Berga, of Taylors Island, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2002 at the Corsica Hills Nursing Center in Centreville. He was 83. He was born in Marietta, Ohio, March 28, 1919, son of the late Forrest and Retta Rouse Berga. Mr. Berga had attended schools in Ohio.

On Oct. 22, 1941, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and had fought on the front line of the European Theater as a sergeant in Company 1 of the 30th Infantry. On Nov. 17, 1945, he married the former Doris Horseman of Taylors Island.

Mr. and Mrs. Berga operated an interior decorating business in the Baltimore area for a number of years. In 1983, they moved to Cambridge, where Mr. Berga worked with his son.

Mrs. Berga passed away Sept. 26, 1994. Mr. Berga was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church at Taylors Island and also was a member of the Wye Bible Church at Grasonville.

He was a resident at the Corsica Hills Nursing Cen- ter, where he passed away Saturday morning. Survivors include a son, D. Gary Berga, and his wife, Susan Berga, of Trinity Farms at Centreville; two grandchildren, Jason Berga and Jackie Bateman; seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Opal Underwood of McKeesport, Pa. He was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Trast. Funeral service was held Wednesday evening with Pastor Paul Canaday officiating.

Burial will be at the Brick Churchyard at Taylors Island. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brick Churchyard, Mr. John S. Neild 5110 North Drive, Cambridge, Md. 21613.

Edward B. Fleming LINKWOOD Edward B. (Bill) Fleming age 77, of Linkwood died Sunday morning, July 21, 2002 at Memorial Hospital, Easton. He was born Jan. 3, 1925 in Bucktown on the family farm, Poplar Farm, son of the late George R.

Fleming and Eva Gray Fleming. On June 4, 1948, he married the former Shirley Pattison of Cambridge. During World War II he was a member of the Maryland State Militia, which was a guard that took care of German prisoners in Cambridge. In 1947 he obtained his license to fly single engine planes as a hobby. Besides his passion for flying, his happiest times were spent with his family and in particular his children and grandchildren.

As a young man, he farmed with his father and brother. Later, he formed E. B. Fleming and Sons, for most of his working life, until retiring in 1987. This farming tradition continues to this day in its fourth generation.

He had worked for Armour Meat Company and Esskay Meat until 1965. He had been employed as a bus driver for Tidewater Coach and later for Transportation, where he provided transportation for the athletic teams of Sts. Peter and Paul School. Mr. Fleming attended Bucktown United Methodist Church.

Mr. Fleming was a former member of the Dorchester County Farm Bureau, board member of Southern States and served as a director for Farm Credit for nine years. Mr. Fleming was a member of the Cambridge Masonic Cambridge Lodge A.F. and A.M., where two years ago he received an award for 50 years of membership.

Surviving besides his wife, Shirley, are five children Sharli Windsor and her husband, Skip. Anne Hurley and her husband, Jeff. Bill Fleming and his wife, Rhonda and Clay Fleming, all of Cambridge, and Bibi Erdmann and her husband, Aaron of Iola, daughter-in-law, Brenda Fleming of Cambridge; three sisters Jean Hurley, Charlotte Spedden and Georgia Nabb, all of Cambridge; brother-in-law James Handley of Cambridge; 13 grandchildren Kristi and Ben Krewson, Annie Windsor, Skipper Windsor, Chip Fleming, Clint Fleming, Jeff Hurley Kirsten Mullens, Will Fleming, Maddie Fleming, Sophie Erdmann, Elise Erdmann, and Cole Erdmann and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was a son, Breck Fleming; a brother, Ridgeway Fleming; two sisters, Betty Anne Handley and Elizabeth Nabb and two grandchildren, Jessica Anne Hurley and Jamie Anne Fleming. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, July 24, at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A.

The Rev. Shirley Evans and the Rev. Ron Meredith officiated. Burial followed at Bucktown U.M. Church Cemetery.

21835 or the American Cancer Society, Dorchester County Unit, Doris Weber, 5163 Maple Dam Cambridge, Md. 21613. John L. Foglesonger CAMBRIDGE John L. Foglesonger, 61, of Cambridge, died suddenly Tuesday, July 16, 2002 and was pronounced dead at Dorchester General Hospital.

Born on June 4, 1941 in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Donald Bruce Foglesonger and Louise V. Hubbard Foglesonger. Mr. Foglesonger was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served from January 1960 to March 1969.

Surviving are two children, John L. Fogelsonger Jr. and Gina Leigh Foglesonger, both of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a sister Donna F. Hooper and her husband, Paul, of Cambridge; two brothers Donald B. Foglesonger, Jr.

and his wife, Connie, of Hurlock and Jefferey Foglesonger of Vienna and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Fridayafternoon, July 19, at the chapel of the Maryland Veterans Cemetery of the Eastern Shore at Beulah. The Rev. Dale L. Brown officiated.

Lillian B. Hurley CAMBRIDGE Lillian B. Hurley, of Cambridge, passed away at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge on Saturday, July 20, 2002. She was 67. She was born in Linkwood Sept.

6, 1934, daughter of the late Merritt H. and Edith Virginia Plummer Brohawn. She attended schools in Cambridge, having graduated from Cambridge High School in 1952. She had been an outstanding basketball player while in high school. For a number of years, she worked in the marine business in Cambridge and also drove a bus for many years.

For the past 27 years, she owned and operated Marine in Easton. She had been in failing health for the past four months and had been a patient at Dorchester General Hospital for the past three weeks, when she passed away Saturday morning. Survivors include a daughter, Linda M. Hales, and her husband, Granville H. Hales III, of Cambridge; one son, John M.

Hurley of Cambridge and three grandchildren Molly E. Hales, David H. Hales and John M. Hurley Jr. A funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev.

George W. Wheatley Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Howard Cornish CAMBRIDGE Howard Emerson Cornish, 84, died Thursday, July 18, 2002 at Dorchester General Hospital.

Born Aug. 17, 1917 in Dorchester County, he was the son of the late Joseph Cornish and Bertha Dorsey. He attended public schools in Dorchester County and spent his entire life here. His employment years were spent working at the Bumble Bee Tuna factory as a fork lift operator until retirement. His hobbies include gardening, spectator sports and traveling.

Mr. Cornish was an active member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Cambridge. His love for the Lord and his Church led him to serve as head deacon and caretaker of the church grounds. Three sisters and five brothers preceded him in death.

He is survived by a lifelong companion, Twilled Mae Murray; eight children Gladys Cornish-Bynum, Correna Cornish Bryan, Gregory Murry (Pam), Michael Murry (Montoya), Emory Murry, Howard Murry, Darcilla Ferguson, Tamya Wilson; 21 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon, July 23, at St. Luke U.M. Church with Rev. Clarence R.

Rochester officiating. Interment followed at the Gum Swamp Cemetery. Salvatrice Haslbeck MIDDLE RIVER Salvatrice B. Haslbeck, of Middle River, formerly of Dorchester County, died July 17, 2002. She was the wife of Frances W.

Haslbeck and mother of JoAnn Kutrik, James Haslbeck and the late Douglas Haslbeck and Frances W. Haslbeck, Jr. She was the grandmother of J. Michael Kutrik III, Patricia Massetti, Angela Prestandrea, Jenny Haslbeck and Jason Haslbeck and the great grandmother of Elena Massetti, Elizabeth Massetti and Jack Anthony Prestandrea. She is also survived by her sisters Josephine Barlow, Marguerite Evans and Gloria Barley.

A brother, Phillip Hammel, is deceased. A funeral liturgy was held Saturday morning, July 20. at St. Catholic Church, Parkville. James Pentimall CAMBRIDGE James C.

Pentimall, 79, of Oxford, died Saturday, July 20, 2002 at Chesapeake Woods Center, Cambridge. Surviving is his wife, Irene Pentimall, and his daughter, Deborah Pentimal; two sisters and a brother. Mr. Pentimall was cremated and inurnment will be held privately. Clarence H.

Thomas TODD POINT Clarence H. Thomas, 85, of Cambridge, died late Wednesday night, July 17, 2002 at Chesapeake Woods Center, Cambridge. He was born Aug. 4, 1916 at Todd of the late William Rufus Thomas and Jennie M. Groll Thomas.

On October 31, 1936 he married the former Nannie Virginia Kinnamon. She died on March 6, 2002. Mr. Thomas was an electrical engineer employed by Telephone Company, from where he retired after 40 years of employment. In his earlier years, he had obtained a license to fly single engine airplanes as a hobby.

Besides enjoying flying, Mr. Thomas also liked camping and admired wildlife. Surviving is his daughter, Joan Marie Lane and her companion, Chris Parker of East New Market; two grandchildren, Anthony Darrell Lane or Preston and Rhonda Richardson and her husband, William Richardson of Cambridge; two great grandchildren Rachel and Michael Richardson; a brother, Howard Thomas of Glen Burnie; a brother-in-law, Howard Kinnamon of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death besides his parents and spouse was a sister, Anna Clauss. Funeral services were held Monday at noon at St.

United Methodist Church, Cambridge. The Rev. Dale L. Brown officiated. Burial followed at Dorchester Memorial Park.
