Mark Allen Turney CENTREVILLE Mark Allen Turney of Centreville died unexpectedly April 7, a massive coronary. He was 31. Born Oct.6,1973,he graduated from SPHS in 1992 and Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla.He was employed as a project supervisor for Ryan Homes. Mark was involved in the Green Hornet Soccer programs for many years and he continued to play in adult soccer leagues.He also enjoyed sports, but mostly just being with his family. Surviving are his wife, Melanie Stevens and Cody and Bill Turney of Severna his Turney of Tennessee.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m.on 12. Edward Herman Schmidt III STEVENSVILLE Edward Herman Schmidt III of on April 5, 2005 at Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton.He was 58. He was born in Cheverly, Md.on Oct.14,1946,the son of the late Edward Herman Schmidt Jr.and Margaret Virginia Stommel Schmidt. Mr.Schmidt attended Bladensburg High School.He worked as a pressman at Communications Corp.of America in Virginia. Mr.Schmidt is survived by three Marie Simms of Virginia, Nancy Colleen Coultis of Corinne Breeden of three Gale Spitzer of Ann Allen of Queenstown, and Terry Lee Nickerson of brother James Allan Schmidt of four Coultis and Blare Breeden.

Born Jan.3,1945,the son of the late Samuel and Madeline Lowery.He was a graduate of Stevensville High School.He worked as a waterman for several years and later worked with his brother in Marine Construction for more than 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Louise Lowery of Lowery of daughter, Mary Anne Shepherd of grandchildren, Tommy Councillor Danielle Shepherd and Bradley Lowery of Cen- a Turner of Stevensville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m.Friday,April and Newnam Funeral Chester.Interment followed in Stevensville Cemetery, Stevensville. Memorial contributions may be made to The Tom Lowery Love Point Road, Marilyn Westergard STEVENSVILLE Marilyn of Love Point died on April 9, 2005 at the age of 76.

She was born on June 9, 1928 in the late Frederick Gederberg and Florence Frieman Gederberg. After graduating from high attended New Jersey College for Women in New in 1949 with a bachelors degree in mathematics.She moved to Annapolis in 1965 and later to Kent Island in 1967.In 1948 she married David J.Westergard, which later ended in divorce. Mrs.Westergard was employed with Anne Arundel County Social Services as a case in 1990. Mrs.Westergard enjoyed gardening and reading. She is survived by five and Chris seven and Nils.

Merle R.Beacher ANNAPOLIS Merle R. Beacher of of on April 10,2005 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center.She was 86 Mrs.Beacher was born on April 29,1918 in Oklahoma. She was a secretary for the National Institutes of Health from 1959 to 1974.She was an avid square dancer with her Cross.

She was a member of Weems Creek Baptist Church in An- napolis.Her hobbies and interests included collecting cook she enjoyed ceramics and needle point. She married Marvin D. Cross in 1935.He died in 1975.She married Edward Beacher in 1984 and he died in 2000.She is also predeceased by a Freeman and two sisters, Hazel Russell and Dorothy Minyard. Mrs.Beacher is survived by a Matthews of Annapolis; three Lee of of Carl Lee of sister Iva Andrews of two four great-grandchildren. Myrtle Jones Sullivan Myrtle Jones Sullivan, beloved resident of since at the home of her daughter on April 7, 2005. Mrs.Sullivan was born on July 24,1912 in the late William and Clara Jones.she had lived in moving to Kent Island in 1969.Myrtle worked for many years as an executive secretary for the architectural S. Harter and napolis.She served many years in the Kent Island United Methodist Women, and loved gardening and crabbing with her grandchildren. husband of 62 Sullivan died in 1996. He is survived by his beloved wife J.Ruth Filling (nee was the loving father of Alida Carole Katherine Ann Dushel of of the late Clara Bannon and Katherine grandfather of Michael Patrick Hamilton Cdr. Robert Rider Cox.He is also survived by seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Walter lived on Kent Island from 1973 to 1991 when he and Ruth moved to the Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville.

While he lived on Kent was very active in St. Catholic Knights of Columbus.The Island Idlers, the Kent Island Federation of Art.Walter and Ruth visited all fifty states and many countries including the Scandinavian Countries, the Cook even a cruise through the Panama Canal. Walter had an active and enjoyable life and will be missed by many. A funeral Mass was held at Our lady of the Angels at Charlestown Retirement Community on April 6.Inter- ment was in Meadowridge Memorial Park next to his F.Dushel.
