STEVENSVILLE An Arnold woman was killed in a two-car crash Saturday on state Route 8 and Long Creek Drive.

Maryland State Police said Diana Jean was pronounced dead at the scene.She was driving a 1998 Acura tried to turn from Long Creek Drive onto Route 8 south.Police said the Acura was hit by a 1999 Toyota Camry traveling north on Route 8. Police said a passenger in the Lynda H.Rose of injured and flown by state police helicopter to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Rose was in fair condition Saturday evening and would probably be discharged later that night, said a nursing coordinator. Police said Carol Jane Stevensville, who was driving the not injured.

Those honored included brothers Jack and Robert and Lucinda Bob Barton.Each year the county honors noteworthy farm families as part of its traditional industries program. The brief ceremony was held in the main show ring at the 4-H Park Fairgrounds.Queen County Commissioner Carol Fordonski read a proclamation announcing August 2008 the month of the farmer in Queen County staff wrote three feature articles profiling the Stevens and Barton.Queen County have the agriculture it has if it for the contributions of families like these, said Donna Landis-Smith, a planner with the county Department of Economic and Tourism.
