Marianne Fogelsanger DENTON Marianne Strachan Fogelsanger, a business administrator and successful master chef, died of a stroke Oct. 27, 2005, in Denton. Mrs. Fogelsanger was born in Dundee, Scotland, in 1923. In earlier years, she traveled extensively with her mother and father, as he was an officer with the Royal Air Forces.

Overseas postings included Malaya, Singapore and India. Much of her time in India was on the Northwest Frontier current day Pakistan and Kashmir. This time had a great effect on her upbringing and led to her great love of the region and for collecting oriental antiques. She returned to England in 1939, prior to the beginning of the War. Shortly thereafter, she was taken in by the National Draft and assigned to work in an airplane parts factory.

She took pride in the fact that the parts she was working on were going into both the Spitfire and Hurricane fighter aircraft that were the backbone of the RAF during the War. Toward the end of the War, in 1943, she married a young West Point officer, Norman L. Williams, who had been wounded in the early days of the Normandy invasion. As such, she became one of the earliest war brides to immigrate to the United States. Mrs.

early career in the United States dealt primarily with community service groups. She worked with the Community Chest now United Way, Washington Center for Metropolitan Studies, and the United Planning Organization as administrative manager. Between these assignments, she worked with an MIT-related Operations Evaluation Group (OEG) doing work for the U.S. Navy and headquartered in the Pentagon. OEG was the predecessor of the current Center for Naval Analyses.

In 1949, and later in 1956, she joined her husband on military assignments to Teheran, Iran. She spent a total of five years in Iran, working mostly with the U.S. Embassy on protocol and social matters. During that time, she donated her entire salary to the orphanages throughout the country. She assisted the Tolstoy Foundation in helping the children of Iran.

During a lengthy separation, she worked very closely with her mentor and friend, Master Chef Max Hauri, and his wife, while training at the famed Ecole de Haute Cuisine, in Geneva, Switzerland. Returning to the United States, her marriage to then Lt. Col. Williams ended in divorce. Her marriage to Donald K.

Fogelsanger in 1963 started a partnership that would last until the end of her life. Between them they established the Anchorage House, a catering firm in Alexandria, Va. The business was cited in many local glossy publications, as well as a most favorable review in the New York Times as home is your The proved very successful, and a wonderful place where the rich and famous could hide from the prying eyes of a more public restaurant. The facility handled weddings, receptions, bar-mitzvahs, wakes, meetings, and private dinners. Anchorage House was a favorite of the Alexandria Club.

It was also the place where she created House a business offering Oriental and European antiques, interior design assistance, and appraising. Leaving Alexandria in 1982, she became active with the St. Andrews Society of Eastern Shore, and later served as its president a relationship that brought her in close contact with the St. Andrews Societies of Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, as well as Ellis MacDonald and the MacDonald Clan of Wilmington, Del. On the commercial side, Mrs.

Fogelsanger managed Canton Row Antiques in St. Michaels, while continuing House with up to five outlet mall shops, through 1999. On the social side, she became active with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Easton Memorial Hospital, amassing 1,000 hours of volunteer effort. As a member of the Talbot Country Club, she became president of Ladies 18 Hole Golf Association. She and Donald organized and ran the annual golf tournament always a fun effort for her.

She went on to become president of the Peninsula Ladies 18 Hole Golf Association, for all the private golf clubs of Delmarva. After their move to Caroline County, in 2002, she became a member of the Caroline Country Club. At the time of her death, she was also a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Amnesty International, The Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, National Medical Center, National Cancer Society, St. Hospital, The Salvation Army, UNICEF, Wheel Chair Foundation, The Williston Community Church, and the Crystal Cathedral. Survivors, in addition to her husband, Donald, of Denton, include her brother, Alan Bow Sr.

of Arlington, two nephews, Alan Bow Jr. and Stewart Bow, both of Falls Church, and a grand-niece, Hannah Fern Bow, of Placentia, Calif. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. Easton, Md.

Blair McNinch PERRY HALL Blair Armstrong McNinch of Perry Hall died Oct. 27, 2005, at his home. He was 27. Born in Silver Spring, Mr. McNinch was the son of Dr.

Eugene R. McNinch and his wife, Margaret, of Chicago, and Paula Elise McNinch- Blonsky, and her husband, Howard, of San Francisco, Calif. He was a U.S. Army veteran and had served in Bosnia. In addition to his parents, Mr.

McNinch is survived by one brother, Dr. Eugene R. McNinch III of Denton; three sisters, Claire S. Leslie of Virginia Beach, Christine Leigh Newman of Savannah, and Erin L. McNinch of Germantown; his maternal grandmother, Mary C.

Knight of Columbia; one stepsister, Shannon M. Shaffer of Enid, and one stepbrother, James D. Black of Coronado, three aunts, Sandra L. McNinch of Dover, Alicia Knight of Stafford, and Roberta McNinch of Dover, two nieces, Hailey McNinch and Ainsley McNinch; three nephews, Nathaniel Hawk, Leslie Roger Lynn, and Lee Knight; his girlfriend, Victoria Roberson of Laurel; and his special family members, Marta Granados of Silver Spring, Cindy Mayorga of Virginia Beach, and Brian C. Kerr of Baltimore.

The funeral service was held Oct. 30, at the Moore Funeral Home, PA, 12 South Second St. in Denton. The interment was Oct. 31, in the Lakeside Cemetery in Dover, Del.

Memorial donations may be made to the Save The Children Foundation, 54 Wilton Westport, CT 06880 or to your local S.P.C.A. John M. Royer FEDERALSBURG John M. Royer of Federalsburg passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005 at Memorial Hospital at Easton.

He was 84. Born in Cordova on July 2, 1921, he was the son of the late Martha and Wayne Royer. He graduated from the Ridgely High School, Class of 1939, and moved to Federalsburg after his marriage to the former Virginia Rowins, his wife of 59 years. He worked for the E.I. Dupont Co.

at its Seaford facility prior to joining Delmarva Power from which he retired in 1983. He served his country during World War II from 1941 to 1945, where he was stationed in England. He was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men of Christ Church, the Federalsburg Lions Club, and was blessed over the years with good friends and neighbors in the community. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother, Henry Royer of California, and by many nephews, nieces, great- nephews, and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by one son, Jack L.

Royer, who passed away April 18, 1979; three sisters, Agnes Manship, Mary Jones and Grace Sinclair; and one brother, Wilson Royer. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. at the Williamson Funeral Home, 311 South Main Street, Federalsburg, with the Rev. Dale Evans, the Rev.

Dan Walker, and the Rev. Conrad Cohen officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Federalsburg.

HenryEtta McMahon HenryEtta Poole McMahon, Quaker Bonnet of Easton, formerly of East New Market, passed away Nov. 5, 2005, at Memorial Hospital at Easton. She was 88. Born in Washington, D.C., on March 27, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Artie Raymond and Laura Foble Poole. She was in the antique business for 26 years and was known for the colorful bonnets and hats she wore.

Mrs. McMahon is survived by a son, R. Stieff of Hog Creek, Preston; a brother, Poole of Darlington; and two grandchildren, D. Stieff and Heather R. Stieff, both of Davidsonville.

She is also survived by many loving and dedicated friends and neighbors, including Philip and Susanna Zaffere. special thank you to everyone who has touched my Burial will be private at the Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery in Preston. Anna Mae Carroll GREENSBORO Anna Mae Carroll of Greensboro died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at Capitol Nursing Rehabilitation Center, Dover, after a lengthy illness.

She was 79. Born Oct. 12, 1926 in Greensboro, she was the daughter of the late Olin C. and Alice Mae Flowers Doty. Mrs.

Carroll attended Hickman Elementary School, where her Aunt Lillie E. Doty taught her for the first three years. She later enrolled in Greensboro Elementary and graduated from Greensboro High School in 1944. After graduation she worked for Jewelry Store in Chestertown. She married Melvin S.

Carroll and together they began a farming career. She was an active member in the Greensboro Homemakers Club and the PTA. She was also a 4-H leader, and taught Sunday School for 15 years at the Greensboro Baptist Church where she was a member. After retiring from farming in 1966, she worked for Playtex and then was a nursing companion for many years. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Dean of Dover, Del.

and Melanie C. Porter and husband, Bill, of Stuart, one grandson, Bill Porter, and a great-granddaughter, Lauren Marie Porter, both of Dagsboro, one sister-in-law, Susie Carroll; special cousins, Carol Davidson of Milford, Nancy Lane of Harrington, Debbie Holt of Goldsboro and Barbara Jarrell of Cambridge; two nephews, Jack Jarrell and Henry Jarrell; a lovely extended family, Debbie and Artie Knipple and their children Nicole and Zachary Knipple; many cousins, great nieces and nephews, close friends, and the Greensboro Baptist Church family. In addition to her husband, who died June 26, 1992, she was preceded in death by her brother, Clarence Doty; sister, Ruth Virginia Jarrell and her son, Douglas Edward Carroll, at birth in 1949. Services were held Nov. 4 at Greensboro Baptist Church.

Shortall Jr. CORDOVA John C. Shortall Jr. died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at Chestnut Ridge Farm, where he was born, raised and farmed his entire life.

He was 64. Born Nov. 26, 1940, he was the son of Frances Holden Shortall of Easton and the late John Carroll Shortall Sr. He was a 1959 graduate of Easton High School. A member of the American Quarter Horse Association, he was also a member of the Delmarva Driving Club, the Tuckahoe Equestrian Center, the Paint Horse Association and First State Coon Hunters Club.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Shortall is survived by his wife, the former Suzanne Ireland, whom he married Jan. 25, 1991; four children, J.C. Shortall III and his friend Donna, Estelle S. Cummings and her husband Farley, Jason E.

Gross and his wife Erin, and Daniel I. Gross; two sisters, Mary S. Patrick and her husband Frank, and Carolyn S. Walker and her husband Bob; four grandchildren, Stephanie Shortall, Connor S. Cummings, Shelby E.

Cummings and Brian E. Gross. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dolores S. Turkington. A memorial service was held Nov.

5 at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P. Easton. Interment was private. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Talbot County Unit, P.O. Box 1306, Easton, MD 21601.

Gladys M. Weber RIDGELY Gladys M. Weber of Ridgely died Oct. 2, 2005. She was the loving wife of the late Henry L.

Weber, and beloved mother of Jeanette Radtke-Davidson and her husband Phillip J. Davidson; devoted grandmother of Albert R. Radtke III and Keith H. Radtke; and admiring great- grandmother of Brianne Radtke. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Nov.

Linda K. Love Linda K. Tull Love, 44, of Delmar, Del. died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at home after a long battle with cancer.

Linda worked for Boaters World in Denton. She was an avid NASCAR fan, loved country music and was active in anything that helped further cancer research. She is survived by her husband, Augustus Love; a son, Jeremy Love, and a daughter, Veronica Love, both of Delmar, her mother, Mary Ellen Tull of Seaford, her father and stepmother, Haines and Verleada Tull of Seaford, two sisters, Julia Lynn Tull and Kimberly Ann McCane, both of Delmar, and a stepbrother, Christopher Lee Parker of Seaford, Del. Funeral services were held Nov. 5 at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N.

Shipley Seaford, Del. Interment was Nov. 7 at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford, Del. Memorial donations may be made to the Delmar Fire Department, P.O. Box 143, Delmar, DE 19940.

Carol P. Mulder EASTON Carol P. Mulder of Easton died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at Memorial Hospital of Easton. She was 56.

Born June 16, 1949 in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Warren Vincent and Helen Audrey Councell Callahan. After graduating from Sts. Peter and Paul High School in Easton, she took a position with that later became Super Fresh, where she worked until the spring of 2004. While working at Super Fresh, she studied for and obtained her cosmetology license. She had recently become a member of B.P.O.

Easton Elks Lodge For several years, she volunteered for the Waterfowl Festival, BBI, and Easton Celebrations. She enjoyed travel, especially international travel, gardening, and knitting scarves of love. Ms. Mulder is survived by two children, Erik Mulder of Denton, and Heather Foote and her husband Troy Sr. of Easton; two sisters, Mary Lou Barrow and her husband Dick, and Frances Murn and her husband Tom, all of Easton; four grandchildren, E.J.

Mulder, Coty Mulder, Victoria Mulder, and T.Q. Foote; and her companion in life, Dirk Dekker. Funeral services were held Nov. 8 at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., Easton.
